Cone Beam Volumetric Tomography

  • Difficult Diagnostic Cases: With resolution on the order of .75 microns, this 3D imaging allows us to identify previously unidentified canal systems or structural problems such as tooth fractures. Additionally, it can allow us to trace the entire shape of periapical pathology to aid in diagnosis and proper treatment planning.
  • Trauma Management: Extremely helpful when structurally evaluating the teeth and surrounding support apparatus, cone beam volumetric tomography also aids us in proper diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Dental Implant Treatment Planning: Allowing us to see vertical, width and depth dimensions allows us to choose the correct implant size for your case. Also important is that this technology allows us to measure distance from vital structures such as the sinus and main nerve canal to prevent them from being permanently damaged.
  • Endodontic Surgery Treatment Planning: In addition to gaining bone dimension associated with a particular tooth root, this technology helps us to keep the surgical area as small as possible. This will improve the post-surgical course for the patient and decrease healing time.

This technology is available at the Schaumburg and Downers Grove locations.
