Dr. Wenfei Wang was born in Dalian, China and moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan at the age of four where she was raised. Dr. Wang attended the University of Michigan and graduated with a B.S. in chemistry with honors in biochemistry in 2008. During her undergraduate tenure, Dr. Wang researched the link between sleep and pain, presenting four abstracts at national research meetings, and publishing two scientific papers. Following her undergraduate studies, Dr. Wang then attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and developed a passion for endodontics. Directly after receiving her D.M.D. degree from Harvard, she was admitted to a rigorous residency program in endodontics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she received her specialty training in conventional root canal therapy and microsurgical endodontics. More recently, she was named a 2018 Incisal Edge Top 40 Under 40 honoree. The award recognizes dental professionals renowned for their medical innovations, volunteer work, philanthropy, and commitment to outstanding patient care.
After experiencing much of the country during her educational tenure, she is excited to have returned to her roots in the Midwest. With her husband, Dr. Alan Commet, she has twin toddler boys: Alexander and Liam. Outside of her career, she is an avid movie-goer and animal lover; however, her favorite hobbies are in the arts — namely painting, charcoal sketching, and her recently developed passion for sketching teeth. Dr. Wang’s professional affiliations include active membership in the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Illinois State Dental Society.
