Heads up: We’ll be closing our Water Tower, Roscoe Village, and Frankfort offices as Dr. Wenfei Wang, Dr. Alan Commet, and Dr. Sundeep Dhawan begin a new chapter in their endodontic careers.
Our specialists use sedation therapy to help control anything from anxiety to medically complex patients. Sedation helps calm the patient, reduce pain and enable our team to focus on the procedure. We offer various levels of sedation and anesthesia appropriate for each treatment case.
Oral conscious sedation
This form of mild sedation uses prescriptions given specifically for a particular procedure to help relax the patient while in the dental operating room. Although strict monitoring is done while in the office, the patient cannot travel alone and must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
Commonly referred to as "laughing gas," it’s a colorless and odorless gas administered through a mask placed over the patient’s nose. It’s intended to calm the patient and make them comfortable, not put them to sleep. Patients are still able to hear and respond to directions given by the doctor during their procedure. It’s normal to feel slightly light-headed or tingling in your arms and legs. This service is available at Schaumburg, Roscoe Village and Water Tower.
Conscious sedation and general anesthesia
Conscious sedation and general anesthesia are both options at our offices. However, to ensure our patients are getting the best care, we work closely with a skilled and trusted dental anesthesiologist who comes to our offices to provide sedation treatment.
